Cllr Shayne Major
Councillor & Parish Footpaths / Walking Officer
Rothersthorpe Parish Council
I am married with daughters and grandchildren, fortunately all of whom live in the Northampton area. I am educated to master degree level (MBA), and am a keen Saints rugby fan. My wife and I have lived in Rothersthorpe for 8 years and my granddaughter attends the local school.
I am a local business owner, manufacturing and supplying & hiring specialist diamond cutting equipment and also materials testing services to the Construction and Civil engineering industries.
I am very conscious that a village is a community and in many respects needs looking after and I do my bit to help by serving on the Parish Council, the Village hall Management Committee and I am a school LA Governor.
I am a "can do" sort of person & see a councillor's role as helping to maintain, protect and improve the village facilities and amenities for the benefit of all in the village.
I am the parish paths warden, speed watch coordinator and have run the last two Best Village Awards with success - we do live in a very nice village.
I am a keen naturalist and supporter of re-wilding & biodiversity.
I helped start up the Wellington Social Club and look forward to seeing more of you in the future.
