Cllr Jodie Johnson (Vice Chair)
Vice Chairperson
Rothersthorpe Parish Council
I grew up living in Rothersthorpe and moved back in 2006 after spending a few years in Kingsthorpe Village when I got married. My family has a long connection with the village and the key reason for me wanting to return was that I have always felt passionately about the community aspect of village life. I have always supported events and as an adult have gone on to help organise a number of these such as the Dog show, New Year's Eve Party, Open Gardens and community meals. I was co-opted onto Parish Council in 2014 and re-elected in 2021 where I was nominated as Vice Chairperson. I view my role on the parish council as an opportunity to try and find out about the needs and interests of other villagers, in order to try and build a more inclusive village.
I am a PE teacher at a secondary school in Wellingborough and as such I am committed to improving the health and wellbeing of young people. This aspiration has seen me become involved with the Dickens Field Trust Project that is looking to create a children's play area and community open space within the village.
Away from the Parish Council I enjoy playing netball, running and have recently taken up road cycling. I also enjoy gardening and this has led me to work alongside the other councillors to try and improve biodiversity within the village and surrounding areas.
