Cllr Frankie Gilkes (Chairman)
Rothersthorpe Parish Council
I moved from St James Northampton to Rothersthorpe in 2019 with my wife Hannah and 2 boys, Jack & Archie. Since moving to the village we have really embraced village life and actively support some great village events, we love living here!
I work for City Plumbing Supplies where I am a Data Quality Manager.
I am an avid volunteer, supporting some great organisations over the years. I have been actively involved in the voluntary sector since 2001.
Away from the Parish Council committee rooms I am a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer with Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Rutland Army Cadet Force.
I am a keen cyclist in both road & mountain biking and got involved with Volunteer Ride Leadership through British Cycling, where I deliver the Let's Ride Programme within my local community.
I have also served as a Special Constable with Northamptonshire Police from 2003 to 2014, policing as part of the Northampton Town Centre safer community team.
I was Co-Opted into the Parish Council in 2020 and re-elected in 2021 where I was nominated Chairman.
I am community focussed and am committed to representing my parish, being your voice for local issues and to support development and improving amenities for the benefit of Rothersthorpe and its residents.
I have taken up the post of Police Liaison Representative for Rothersthorpe Parish and work closely with Northamptonshire Police alongside over 150 dedicated volunteer Police Liaison representatives across the county. As a PLR's I raise issues and identify policing priorities relevant to Rothersthorpe, engage with beat officers and PCSO's through a "place based policing" model, holding officers to account through agreed key performance indicators and to build community relationships and partnerships.
I have been responsible for the implementation of the new Parish Council Website, working with our new provider to design and implement a more user friendly and responsive web journey. This move to the UK Local Councils platform delivered by 2Commune has ensured our website is HTML5 validated and WCAG compliant, which is a legal requirement for user accessibility.
