Work has finally started on the long awaited section of pathway that will open up the Dickens Field Community Space off of the Banbury Lane.

For everyone's safety please be mindful of closed footpaths and an increase in machinery operating on the Church Street Junction. Please adhere to any parking restrictions that have been placed on Church Street for the duration of the work.

We apologise for any inconvenience during this time and we ask that if anyone has concerns regarding these works, they are to direct questions to Rothersthorpe Parish Council via the Contact Us link and not to approach the contractors directly.

A number of people have reported that the drawbridge over the canal near lock 9 (at the top of the fields accessed from the bottom of North Street) has been removed making the footpath incomplete unless you use the locks.Rothersthorpe Parish Council have been in touch with the Canal's Trust and have been informed that both bridges (second one in line with the Jaguar garage) failed health and safety inspections so are being replaced. This is taking longer as they are listed and any design is subject to approval from the Heritage team to ensure they are in keeping with the original look. In the mean time investigations are being made as to how a temporary bridge across the overflow could be put in place to make access easier. We will update you when we have further information. In the meantime please remember if you have any concerns about the footpaths around Rothersthorpe you can report them on FixMyStreet.com
